Polytechnics Quality Standards Department

The Polytechnics Quality Standards Department is dedicated to ensuring the quality of education in polytechnic institutions of higher learning.

Key responsibilities of the department include:

  1. Coordinate all activities related to Quality Assurance for Polytechnics higher learning institutions
  2. Participate in the setting of standards for accrediting institutions of higher learning.
  3. Coordinate the activities related to the dissemination of laws, standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures for accrediting institutions of higher learning, and quality assurance.
  4. Coordinate the activities related to the preparation and implementation of educational quality standards, Policies, and guidelines of institutions higher learning. 
  5. Coordinate the activities related to monitoring the implementation of the standards in Polytechnics higher learning institutions
  6. Participate in the activities related to the accreditation of new Private Institution of Higher Learning, the approval of Upgrading the level of Teaching, the approval of Opening a new branch campus, the approval of Opening a College; a School; a Faculty or an Affiliated Research Institute, the approval of new curricula, and academic programs of Polytechnics higher learning institutions.
  7. Plan, organize, and coordinate all activities related to capacity building to enhance quality education in institutions of higher learning.
  8. Provide technical and professional advice on the Polytechnics Quality Standards.
  9. Prepare and submit periodic reports on the situation of Polytechnics higher learning institutions
