Accreditation, Standards and Qualifications Framework Division

The Accreditation, Standards, and Qualifications Framework Division is responsible for upholding and enhancing the academic quality and credibility of higher learning institutions through the development, implementation, and monitoring of accreditation and qualifications frameworks. 

Key responsibilities of the division include:

  1. Participate in the setup of quality standards in Higher Education, Upgrading the level of teaching, Opening a new branch campus, a College, a School, a faculty or an affiliated Research Institute of higher learning.                                                                                         
  2. Coordinate the activities related to accreditation of a new Higher Learning Institution and approval of curricula and academic programs.
  3.  Coordinate the activities related to accreditation of academic programs, Licensing, standards and qualifications framework related services for higher learning institutions.
  4. Participate in the activities related to the development, review and monitoring of the Qualifications Framework, laws, educational quality standards, policies, standard operating procedures and guidelines of institutions of higher learning.
  5. Carryout the comparison and issue of equivalence to degrees and certificates awarded by foreign institutions of higher learning.
  6. Ensure digitalization of services related to Accreditation, Standards, equivalence and Qualifications Framework.
  7. Coordinate the assessment and verification of proposed graduands files from all HLIs before graduation in accordance with the set Norms and standards and Qualifications framework.
  8. Coordinate the activities related to the dissemination of laws, standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures for accrediting institutions of higher learning and academic programs.
